II ALGOS Congress – Pain management: New Frontiers and Perspectives
December 13 @ 9:30 am - December 14 @ 1:30 pm
Chronic pain represents a global health challenge with a significant impact on patient’s quality of life and substantial socioeconomic costs. This complex and multifactorial condition requires an integrated and personalized therapeutic approach that considers the specific needs of the patient and the most recent scientific evidence.
The 2nd ALGOS Congress, “Pain Therapy: New Frontiers and Perspectives”, was conceived to meet this need, offering a unique opportunity for high-level scientific training and updates. The event in Bologna on December 13th and 14th, 2024, will bring together nationally and internationally renowned experts from various medical disciplines to discuss the latest scientific evidence and the most effective therapeutic strategies.
The Congress will feature several thematic sessions covering a wide range of topics, from the pathophysiology of chronic pain to the most innovative pharmacological and interventional therapies, including neuromodulation and neuroablation techniques, as well as the use of ultrasound in clinical practice. Particular attention will be given to cutting-edge areas in pain therapy, such as regenerative medicine, therapeutic cannabis, and some complementary non-pharmacological therapies.
We are excited to announce that Congress is now open to submitting scientific contributions from authors under 40, as we strongly believe in the value and innovative ideas of the younger generations. The award winner for the best abstract will be announced on the first day of the Congress and will be granted the opportunity to present their work on the second day, along with a cash prize of 1,000 euros. To participate, you must be registered for the Congress. This is a unique opportunity to showcase your talent in front of an audience of experts and to make a concrete contribution to the advancement of pain therapy.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the congress proceedings, and their authors will have the opportunity to be considered as speakers for the next Algos congress. We invite all interested professionals to participate, deepen their knowledge, engage in meaningful discussions, and promote the growth of the field together with prominent national and international experts.
Learning Objectives:
- To deepen the understanding of chronic pain’s neurophysiological and pathophysiological mechanisms, focusing on central and peripheral sensitization processes.
- To acquire practical skills in the most innovative diagnostic and therapeutic techniques, including ultrasound-guided interventional procedures, neuromodulation, and neuroablation.
- To critically assess the efficacy and safety of different therapeutic options, both pharmacological and non-pharmacological, for the management of chronic pain.
