Pain in Europe XV | 21-23 April 2027 | Glasgow

Networking at #EFIC2027

The European pain community gathers in Glasgow for three days of plenaries, workshops, and poster sessions. Around the science sits a programme of networking formats built to help you meet colleagues across disciplines, discuss your work, and start the collaborations that move the field forward.

The formats below are open to all delegates unless stated otherwise. Times and venues marked TBA will be confirmed as the programme develops.

Connect around the science

Where research meets conversation

Some of the most productive exchanges at the congress happen around the research itself. These formats are built into the scientific programme and are open to every delegate.

Poster Networking

Accepted posters are on display throughout each day, with dedicated one-hour viewing sessions grouped by theme. Consistently one of the favourite features of the congress, these sessions are a relaxed, informal setting to present your work, meet peers, and discuss research across disciplines.

Poster Walks

Guided poster walks give presenters a dedicated space to have their work spotlighted and discussed with peers under the guidance of a topic expert. Posters are grouped thematically, so your work is presented alongside related research and discussed in context by a moderator with expertise in your field.

EFIC Pain Challenge

Two teams take on a series of questions spanning the breadth of pain science and pain management, with the audience invited to take part. A lively, knowledge-led session that puts the field itself centre stage.

ECR Get-Together

A casual first-evening meet-up for early career researchers in the Crowne Plaza hotel bar, adjacent to the SEC, following the opening ceremony.

Wednesday evening

Discussions on the professional growth and wider skillset of pain researchers, complementing the science of the workshops and plenaries with practical advice and inspiration.

Timings to follow

ECR Scavenger Hunt

Pick up your passport, collect stamps at stations across the venue, and enter the draw for tickets to the ECR Networking Party. A good way to get to know the venue, the exhibition, and fellow researchers.

Wednesday

ECR Networking Party

A chance to meet others working in pain science, make contacts, and share experiences along a similar career path. A popular fixture at previous congresses and likely to sell out.

Thursday evening Separate registration, 42 EUR incl. VAT

Open to all, built for ECRs. The ECR Networking Party welcomes anyone who would like to join. See the full early career programme, including timings and registration, on the dedicated page.
