HOW THE PROGRAMME WORKS
Each live session builds on one of the 2025 Clinical Case recordings available on the EFIC Academy platform.
Faculty revisit key elements of the case and respond to questions submitted in advance or during the session.
Recordings and additional resources remain available to members via Moodle after each session.
Good to know: Participation live is encouraged but not mandatory — recordings will be accessible afterwards.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
Case Author: Rainer Freynhagen
This session explores the pathophysiology, diagnosis, and management strategies in CRPS — including multidisciplinary approaches for refractory cases.
Learning objective: Identify key diagnostic criteria and formulate evidence-informed management strategies for patients with CRPS.
Case Author: Daniele Battelli
An in-depth look at trigeminal neuralgia, covering evidence-informed diagnostic workup and both pharmacologic and interventional treatment options.
Learning objective: Differentiate trigeminal neuralgia from other facial pain syndromes and select appropriate first- and second-line treatments.
Case Author: Indre Bileviciute-Ljungar
Focused on fibromyalgia’s complex biopsychosocial phenotype, this session examines assessment, individualized treatment planning, and integration of rehabilitative strategies.
Learning objective: Apply a biopsychosocial framework to the assessment and multidisciplinary management of fibromyalgia.
Case Author: Victor Mayoral Rojals
Case-based analysis of post-mastectomy pain mechanisms, perioperative risk factors, prevention techniques, and multidisciplinary management.
Learning objective: Recognise risk factors for chronic post-mastectomy pain and outline prevention and treatment approaches across the care pathway.
Case Author: Asbjørn Mohr Drewes
A clinically oriented discussion on pancreatic cancer pain: pathophysiology, interventional options, neuro-regulatory targets, and palliative considerations.
Learning objective: Describe mechanisms of pancreatic cancer pain and evaluate pharmacological and interventional management options in palliative care.
