The chosen theme for #EFIC2023 is ‘Personalised Pain Management: The Future Is Now’. It is becoming more evident that personalized approaches to pain management are necessary in order to address the unique aspects of each patient with chronic pain. This includes tailoring pain management strategies to fit the individual, predicting their response to different treatments, and making decisions that aim to prevent pain. The same considerations also apply to acute pain and the transition from acute to chronic pain. The goal of #EFIC2023 is to examine recent advancements in this field, encompassing pain research and management, as well as exploring existing knowledge, critical questions, controversies, and compelling evidence.
