The Spanish Pain Society (SED) is delighted to share that, in addition to its ongoing advocacy and congress participation, it held a high-level meeting with the Spanish Minister of Health, Mónica García, this April. The meeting, which took place at the Ministry’s headquarters in Madrid, focused on the current challenges of chronic pain in Spain and presented concrete proposals to improve care for people living with pain.

Discussions addressed the need for a cross-cutting national strategy on chronic pain, improved data collection, and institutional support for professional accreditation in pain management. SED also called for guaranteed response times for patients with high-impact chronic pain and underlined the importance of recognising pain as a health priority.

This meeting marks a significant step forward in strengthening collaboration between the scientific community and health authorities in Spain. Read the full article here.
