The Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) Spain Platform has had a change in leadership. Moving forward, Miren Revuelta and Anna Server will be leading SIP Spain. Below you will find additional details about the new representatives.

Miren Revuelta, MD, PhD, EDPM, FIPP, is a Anaesthesiologist, specialist in Pain Medicine. She works as adjunct Senior in Pain Unit at the University Hospital of Santa Creu i Sant Pau in Barcelona. She got her degree of European Diploma in Pain Medicine (EDPM by EFIC) in 2017 and her degree in Fellow of Intervenitonal Pain Practice (FIPP by WIP) in 2023. She is PhD and associate professor at UAB ( University Autonoma of Barcelona). Her clinical expertise is neuromodulation for chronic pain, she leads the working group of neurostimulation and radiofrecuency in the Pain Catalan Society.

Anna Server, MD, PhD, FIPP, is a consultant physician, specialist in pain medicine at Vall d’Hebron University Pain Clinic, Barcelona, and her doctoral thesis was on translational medicine and its application in pain. She has since then been involved in basic research in pre-clinical models, being a member of the VHIR Musculoskeletal Tissue Engineering research group. The mission of this group is to develop cell and tissue-based therapies in the field of regenerative medicine. Her clinical expertise is mainly in the management of oncologic pain patients. The fact of belonging to a campus like Vall d’Hebron, recently accredited as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), allows her to advocate for a model of integrated multidisciplinary cancer care. She is a member of the board of directors of the Catalan Society and also of the Spanish Pain Society.
