The Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) Platform welcomed the European Commission Roadmap on Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan.
Pain significantly impacts the lives of cancer patients and survivors. Therefore, SIP submitted feedback to this Consultation, which is now available here.
After publishing this Roadmap, the European Commission received 384 feedback responses until the set deadline on March 3rd, 2020. Most of the feedback papers came from academic/research institutions, EU citizens, many national and international organisations, and individuals. All responses are publicly available on the website of the European Commission.
In 2016, a specific working group on “The relevance of pain in cancer care and rehabilitation” met and defined policy recommendations on how to address these topics to policymakers. Check the presentations and outcomes of this SIP Working Group meeting at the European Parliament here.
