Georgia
We are pleased to share an exciting update from our Georgian National Chapter. The 8th Georgian International Conference on Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy “Geoanesthesia 2025“, will be held in Batumi, on September 26-27, 2025. The Conference is held with the support of the Government of Ajara, Tbilisi State Medical University and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and brings together anesthesiologists-reanimatologists, toxicologists and emergency medicine specialists. Workshops on regional anesthesia and difficult airway management will be held during the working days, along with a series of international speakers.

UK

The British Pain Society is delighted to invite you to the 59th Annual Scientific Meeting, taking place from 21–23 April 2026 in Harrogate, England. The 2026 Scientific Programme will once again reflect the multidisciplinary nature of our speciality, offering a diverse range of plenary lectures, parallel workshops, and interactive discussions designed to foster both scientific exchange and clinical dialogue. Stay tuned, the ASM website will be launched very soon.

The British Pain Society is also pleased to introduce our new Professional Congress Organiser, In Conference Ltd, who will be working with us to deliver a seamless and dynamic congress experience. We look forward to welcoming you to a meeting that promises to be both scientifically enriching and professionally rewarding. Additionally, the Headache Special Interest Group will be holding their conference 14 November 2025. This conference is dedicated to exploring the latest developments and innovations in the field.

Delegates can expect a stimulating and insightful agenda examining new treatments and approaches from diagnosis to treatment. Including opportunities to share knowledge and best practice with multidisciplinary peers, and hear from subject matter experts, this conference is a must for anyone involved in the research, treatment, or management of headache. The meeting is open to all health care professionals, including GPs with a special interest, trainees, consultants, nurses, pain specialists, neurologists, etc.

We launched our strategy for 2025 to 2030 – a roadmap shaped by extensive member engagement, collaboration, and a deep understanding of the evolving landscape of pain care in the UK. Spain

The Spanish Chapter has an exciting programme of activities for the last quarter of 2025. Alongside ongoing initiatives such as the “Ideas that Relieve” Contest, several scientific activities are scheduled.

This includes the following:

  • The III Edition of the Juan Antionio Mico Awards for Pain Research 2025 will be held on the 28 July 2025 to 1 October 2026. Find out more here.

Armenia

The National Association for Pain Medicine of Armenia is proud to announce the first Armenian International Congress on Pain Medicine (AICPM 2025), held in parallel with Yerevan Pain Days 2025. The Congress will be held on 28–30 November 2025 in Yerevan, Armenia. With the theme “Let’s Overcome Pain Together”, this landmark event will gather world-renowned experts, clinicians, researchers, and policymakers for three days of scientific exchange and collaboration.

Serbia
The Serbian Association of Pain Research and Treatment (SAPRT) is organizing the International Congress on Pain titled “Contemporary Approaches to Pain Management: Science, Practice, and Innovation” to be held in Novi Sad on December 5-6, 2025. The Congress brings together a large number of eminent experts from the country and abroad who deal with pain.

The Congress has 9 sessions under the following titles:

  • Recognition, occurrence, and treatment of central sensitization in chronic pain
  • Gaining new insights through education
  • Therapeutic challenges in management of pain in everyday practice
  • Experience of pain and its impact on the biopsychosocial status of the patient
  • Validity of tests and measurements for pain assessment
  • Chronic pain… treatment modalities and possibilities for prevention
  • Minimally invasive procedures in the treatment of chronic pain
  • Non-pharmacological pain treatment methods as part of complementary therapy tailored to the individual needs of the patient

Poland
The 12th Congress of the Polish Association for the Study of Pain will take place on October 16-18th in Wroclaw, Poland. This event will feature distinguished overseas and local speakers to share their knowledge and insights on novel pain management strategies and therapies. The congress’ sessions will include topics on application of different pain management techniques, advances in basic science and clinical pain management, medical training, professionalism and ethics in pain management.

Lithuania
The 19th Annual meeting of Lithuanian Pain Society took place on 13-14th of June in Panevezys, the capital town of Aukstatija that is one of beautiful parts of the country. The meeting gathered near one hundred participants, who met with the educational team of fourteen domestic and foreign lecturers. The meeting’s motto was “Discussions about chronic pain and quality of live”, and the scientific program consisted of three plenary sessions, two discussion panels, one workshop. This allowed participants to collect up to ten hour’s activities of postgraduate studies. All participants were granted with the last issue of “Skausmo medicina”, the official journal of Lithuanian pain society.
The first session devoted to physical medicine and rehabilitation was opened by dr Indre Bileviciute-Ljungar, the chairman of EFIC Education Committee. Indre, who is of Lithuanian nationality and FMR doctor and pain physician by specialty, currently practices in Sweden but still keeps strong ties with homeland. She is visiting professor of Lithuanian university of health sciences and vice President of Lithuanian Pain society. In the session of the meeting she presented mutual projects together with young doctors of our university. An extraordinary participation in the meeting was Dr John Prunskis, American Lithuanian, the well-known pain physician from Illinois. His talk with panel discussion at the venue was the comprehensive overview of healthcare system of US and pain management particularly. Dr John Prunskis is also Lithuanian diplomat visiting our country regularly and always giving consultations both support for Lithuanian pain doctors. And one more big friend of Lithuanian has participated in the meeting of LPS. Dr Arun Bhaskar, the pain physician from UK, former president of British pain society, presented his speech at the third session on the topic of non-interventional neuromodulation. Dr Bhaskar’s mission is to introduce new innovative methods of pain management in all Baltic countries therefore, his visits are regular with presenting workshops and givingconsultative support.
The memory of Arunas Pakula, the author of Lithuanian pain questionnaire, was commemorated in the meeting. The special panel session “The language of pain” chaired by prof. Kestutis Petrikonis, did show how still important in our nowadays is clear cooperation with patients expressing their pain.
And one more extraordinary happened in the meeting. As common for all our events is upload them with social sports programs including the basketball as religion of Lithuanians, also tennis, run events. This time was the first showed chess game on the podium. The match between Panevezys hospital and Lithuanian pain society ended 3:3. This was symbolic outcome of friendly atmosphere that prevailed during two days program of the 19th annual meeting of Lithuanian pain society.
