Regarding advocacy, the European Pain Federation is a partner within the Societal Impact of Pain platform with Pain Alliance Europe (patients’ organisation) and Active Citizenship Network (citizens’ rights organisation) and Grünenthal (pharmaceutical company).
The Societal Impact of Pain platform aims to change policies affecting pain care by drawing attention to the consequences of untreated pain on patients, healthcare systems, employment and society. The European Pain Federation takes part in the Global Year Against Pain campaign, known as the European Year Against Pain in Europe.
We are adding new initiatives to our flagship projects, Our president Bart Morlion has launched the idea of a presidential campaign that will run across the three-year mandate of each President. The theme for 2017- 2020 is ‘EFIC On the Move’ focusing on the importance of physical activity in preventing primary and secondary pain.
We are also working on the development of the the ‘European Pain Forum’.
The Forum aims to bring together European medical societies specialising in pain to promote cooperation on issues where we share a common scientific understanding. This platform could lead to common responses to requests for expert opinion and to the development of common positions.
This page will host all new developments of the aforementioned and additional projects.
