In February 2020, the EFIC-Grünenthal Grant (E-G-G) will reopen applications for its pain research grant worth a total of €200,000.

E-G-G is a research grant scheme awarded by the European Pain Federation EFIC and sponsored by the pharmaceutical company Grünenthal GmbH that helps early-career scientists and clinicians start independent research in the area of chronic pain.

Since 2004, the E-G-G has successfully funded 65 innovative research projects, awarding almost €1.6 million to participants in more than 13 countries.

The E-G-G offers a total of €200,000, every two years. This includes up to five grants of €40,000 per project.

The E-G-G gives priority to translational research projects that have impact on patients at the heart of its aims. We are particularly interested in projects that target unmet medical needs in the chronic pain space.

Watch this space for the launch of a new E-G-G website coming in early 2020. Until then, you can see the profiles of the last round’s winners on the EFIC website here.
