The Societal Impact of Pain (SIP) Annual Report for 2025 is now available.

The report gives an overview of the activities and impact of the SIP platform in the last year. Among its key achievements:

Prevention and NDCs. SIP has made significant progress in advancing the prevention of chronic pain and its integration within wider EU non-communicable disease (NCD) policies in 2025. The European Parliament’s event “From Burden to Prevention: Reframing Chronic Pain in EU Health Policy,” which brought together policymakers, WHO representatives, clinicians, researchers, and patient advocates to highlight the urgency of integrating chronic pain prevention into EU policy, stands as a major milestone of SIP advocacy efforts.

Contribution to the SANT Public Consultation (Study) on Women’s Health. SIP participated in the European Parliament’s Public Consultation on Women’s Health, helping to position chronic pain as an essential consideration within EU women’s health policies.

Amendments to the Report on the EU Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities post-2024. SIP provided amendments to the European Parliament’s report on the EU Strategy for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities post-2024, pushing for chronic pain to be better recognised within disability rights frameworks.

Advocacy Toolkit Training. SIP set up an Advocacy Toolkit Training, strengthening the capacity of SIP National Platforms to engage effectively in national and EU-level policy processes.
