smartCARE, a flagship initiative under Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the EU4Health Programme (2021–2027), is developing an innovative cancer survivor smart card in the form of a mobile app. This tool aims to improve the health and well-being of cancer survivors across Europe. As a key consortium partner, EFIC played a crucial role in identifying the specific needs of cancer survivors and defining essential app features to enhance patient care. EFIC highlighted the importance of tracking and addressing pain throughout the cancer journey and provided valuable input during the app’s development. At the smartCARE showcase event, held during the European Cancer Summit on November 22 in Brussels, EFIC participated in the unveiling of the app prototype. Attendees were invited to test the prototype, which received widespread praise and constructive feedback for further refinement. This marked the conclusion of the initiative’s first funding phase.
