Support for EFIC National Chapter Members
As a member of an EFIC national chapter, you automatically gain access to a range of benefits designed to support your professional development, expand your knowledge, and connect you with the broader European pain community. This page outlines what you are entitled to as an individual member.
Education & Learning Opportunities
EFIC Academy Discounts
Chapter members receive an additional 15% discount on EFIC Academy membership, on top of standard rates. This discount is accessed via a code distributed by your national chapter.
The EFIC Academy gives you:
-
Access to a high-quality e-learning platform
-
Participation in a biennial virtual education event
-
Further discounts on EFIC-organised activities
If your chapter needs a discount code, contact academy@efic.org.
EFIC Pain Schools
EFIC funds a limited number of places at its Pain Schools. Chapter members who apply with a recommendation letter from their Councillor are prioritised, especially if candidates are equally qualified.
Chapters are encouraged to:
-
Share calls for applications as early as possible
-
Actively identify and recommend strong candidates
-
Decide internally how recommendation letters are issued
Free access to the European Journal of Pain (EJP)
All chapter members are entitled to free online access to the European Journal of Pain. Chapters with their own scientific journal may also translate selected EJP articles into their own language, subject to copyright compliance.
For details, contact secretary@efic.org.
Reduced registration fees for the EFIC Congress
National chapter members qualify for a reduced registration fee at the EFIC Congress. This is indicated clearly during registration and can be combined with other categories if applicable.
In addition, EFIC provides financial aid such as free registrations. Applicants from EFIC chapters are given priority, especially from low-income countries. Councillors are encouraged to share the call for applications widely when launched.
EFIC-supported speakers for national chapter events
Chapters may request support from EFIC to invite a high-level speaker to their national scientific meetings. EFIC may:
-
Cover travel and accommodation costs
-
Liaise with a relevant speaker or provide a Board member
Requests should be submitted at least six months in advance. If you have a topic preference, please include it in your request.
Even if a speaker is not requested, EFIC can offer official endorsement and promotional support for national events. For details, contact secretary@efic.org.
Promotion of your national chapter events
EFIC helps national chapters promote their events and activities to a wider European audience.
Opportunities include:
-
Listings on the EFIC website calendar
-
Features in the “News from Our Chapters” section
-
Coverage via EFIC newsletters and social media
To submit your event or update, contact secretary@efic.org.
