Welcome Reception
On Wednesday evening, all attendees are invited to the welcome reception in the exhibition area following the opening ceremony. All attendees mix and meet with food and drinks available.

Early Career Researchers Advice Sessions
With our ECR advice sessions, we aim to increase the confidence of and expand on the professional skills of early career researchers working in the pain science field.
From academia to industry – Q&A session with an industry professional
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to take your research expertise and work for a pharmaceutical company? What are the advantages (and disadvantages) of working on the industry side? How does it differ from working in academia and what does it mean for the professional development of a pain researcher? We will be joined by a pharmaceutical industry professional who will provide insight and advice alongside answering questions from early career researchers.

Early Career Researchers Networking Party
Whatever career stage you are, join our ECR Networking Party at one of Budapest’s famous ‘ruin bars’ to meet people, tell us how we can help you and find out more about the support EFIC can offer to ECRs.

Poster Networking
At #EFIC2023, all posters will have a dedicated area and time for presentation, whether it’s during the regular poster sessions, oral presentations, guided poster walks or the informal poster presentation during our welcome and networking reception.

ERA-NET-Neuron meet-up
Involved in an ERA-NET-Neuron chronic pain project? Meet the other project teams. We will hosting a networking area for the ERA-NET-Neuron chronic pain project teams present at the congress. Get to know the objectives of each project and what synergies can be found between them. Even if you’re not part of a project, feel free to meet the project teams. ECR Speed Networking
Are you an early career researcher hoping to expand your network? Take part in our speed (research) networking event. We will be organizing a speed networking table, where early career researchers can informally discuss their research with their peers and find mutual scientific interests and possible collaborators. Scientific Networking Roundtables
In 2022, EFIC launched its Pain Scientist Network which connects pain researchers by their scientific expertise. At #EFIC2023, we will be using this information to organise thematic networking roundtables where you can meet researchers from various career stages at these roundtables, discuss your work, seek advice and identify potential career opportunities and collaborations.
